SUNAPEE RECREATION COMMITTEE
MEETING MINUTES
February 19, 2008

Present:  Chuck, Paul, Scott, Craig, Melissa

Guests:  Rhonda Gurney, Lisa Bozogen, Lisa Meehan, Faith Reney

Meeting called to order at timeMinute10Hour197:10pm.

Guests did a presentation on the new library.  The new location will be a warrant article in March voting.  The old Abbott Library will not go up for sale at this time.

A yearly meeting schedule was handed out.

January meeting minutes were reviewed and accepted.

Update on Veteran’s Field Project by Jack Weinberger - $1400.00.

$1500.00 has been collected so far for July 4 fireworks.

Tony Milewski will be doing a softball clinic and Tom Fredericks will be doing a baseball clinic.  More information will follow.

National Guards are donating a flag.  We should think about where the pole for the flag would go.  Maybe a presentation in early April?

Ski Tow Hill – This came up at the town meeting.  What do we want to do on Ski Tow Hill?  Paul will write a letter of support and send it to us to review.

July 11 – golf tournament.  Brian is heading this up.
Question came up of what we will do with the money from this.  We don’t want to be a fundraising committee.  Would we create a separate non-profit entity that would control the funds?  Friends of Special Rec?  Perhaps we could do the golf tournament with someone else – SPTO, Booster Club?  More discussion will follow.

New web site up for Town.

Summer/Fall brochure may be 12 – 15 pages.  Business card space 3x4 is $50.00

Sign ups for soccer camp going on now.  10 children are already signed up.
Rowing club is being created at the state beach.

Handbooks were handed out.

Dewey Field – Charlie can’t find the files.  Scott will see if they are in Donna’s office.

Next meeting scheduled for 3/11 has been changed to 3/18 due to voting day.

Meeting adjourned at timeMinute0Hour208:00pm.

Respectfully submitted,

Melissa Eastman
